EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) or electroerosive machining is a progressive production process, which works with thermal and pressure effect of electric discharge. Great accuracy and surface purity, including very hard materials, are ensured. EDM is carried out on modern Sodick machines.
Vacuum plating technology represents the process of evaporation of metals in high vacuum and condensation of vapors on cold surfaces of objects. Advantages are possibility to create coating on non-metal materials, while thickness of the coat is 1 – 3 µm. It could be used in optics, electronics, etc.
Vacuum forming technology is based on forming of material in a form using pressure (vacuum). After heating, basic material copies the shape of the mold. The mold has a shape of the final product. Processing of the material using vacuum forming is beneficial in the third dimension of the product. The advantages are spatial shape of the product and high detail. The technology is suitable for serial production (predominantly smaller series) or blister production.
